When you call to inquire about booking a private class, I will ask you several questions: 1.) Have you ever practiced yoga before? 2.) Why do you want to start a practice? 3.) What is your main goal? 4.) Do you have any injuries or physical limitations?
Based on your answers, once we set up a time to meet, I will design an hour long practice for you that takes into account your previous knowledge of the poses, what you are hoping to accomplish, and one that will help you work with any injuries/limitations. During our time together, I will observe your movements, offer modifications and gentle hands on assists(if you are comfortable with that), and give you ideas for things to work on at home.
When you decide to work with me, my main goal is to make sure that you feel comfortable and understood. I will spend time before each session planning a personalized sequence designed to help you meet your goals, whether those are for increased flexibility or strength, better balance, stress reduction, learning to breathe better, etc. Between sessions, I welcome phone calls, texts, or e-mails if you have questions or need support! The number of private sessions needed is a very individualized thing. Some clients come once and then join us for group classes; some clients prefer the one-on-one experience, and have been with me for years. The choice is yours! Give me a call to see if a private session or two is right for you!
